Welsummer The Welsummer is named after the Dutch village of Welsum, where the breed was developed in the early twentieth century, from Partridge Cochins, Partridge Wyandottes, Partridge Leghorns, Barnaevelders and Rhode Island Reds. Welsummers lay beautiful large deep red brown eggs, some being mottled with brown spots. They are fairly quiet, hardy and good foragers. |
